Free Family Fun! Weekend of 3/13/2010

Gah! I hate sinus infections! It means I don't get to do fun stuff like blogging when I have stuff to blog. It's difficult to concentrate when your brain feels like it's trying to escape through your ears. Well, I'm well enough for right now to get up the free family fun stuff for this weekend. I don't know for how much longer I will feel this well because Mr. Newbie is on a moving around frenzy and dust is getting kicked up like nobody's business.

As always, call your preferred location to ensure they are participating in the event.

Have fun, guys! We won't be going to any Saturday events because I won tickets for us to go see Thomas the Tank Engine in Dallas, TX on Saturday. Since we're in Houston, this will be an all day event for us. We won these tickets courtesy of My Dallas Mommy. See, it is worth it to enter blog contests. Real people do win! :)

Family Fun for weekend of 3/5/10

Sorry it's not in the normal format, but I'm about to rush out of the door and wanted to be sure I got this posted ASAP. All of these events happen on Saturday and it's always recommended to check with your favorite location before going to be sure they're participating.

Saturday 9am-12pm
Home Depot
Make a Rain Gauge
Personally, I haven't had any problems with Ian being able to do these EXCEPT for the Home Depot on 646 & 45, even though he's 3.

Storytime
When I went in December, they told me they do this every week. I haven't been back since because Ian's not too fond of sitting still for a story, but I'd double check to be sure.

All of these activities are FREE!!!!! During Christmas time, I tried to drag Pre-schooler Newbie around to each and every one of them, but it didn't work out so well. I definitely will be taking him to Home Depot because it's practically right next door to me (in Pearland on 518 & Clear Lake City Blvd). I could walk there if I had to.

Have a fun weekend!

Family Events for this weekend 2/27/10

I had been trying really hard to get these up by Friday, but this week and last week it just didn't work out. Sorry about that. Last Thursday, Mr. Newbie got hurt at work and this Thursday I ended up in the E.R. for what turned out to be a sinus infection causing a mega headache that made me think about my mortality for a minute there (my dad died of brain cancer and his dad died of an aneurysm so when something like this happens I freak out a little. I'm OK, so that makes me happy!

On to the family events for this weekend. As always, check the website given and call your preferred location to confirm they will be participating in this event.

One more free activity this weekend

Sorry I forgot to add this one. Lakeshore Learning Centers has a free kids craft every Saturday from 11am-1pm. This week they're making a Be My Valentine Magnetic Note Holder. You can view details and future projects here. You can also locate a nearby store on that page.

Family Activities for This Weekend

I thought I'd share some events this weekend that are coming up and are free or close to free for the family. I don't do all of these with my son, but I always try to get to any of the hardware stores building events. I do keep track of other events just in case we're looking for something else fun to do.

Here's what's going on this weekend.
